Her Story, My Story? Writing About Women and the Holocaust, edited by Prof. Judith Tydor Baumel-Schwartz and Prof. Dalia Ofer, both members of the Remember the Women Institute Advisory Board, was published in Spring 2020.
The anthology chapters are personal essays by an international and interdisciplinary group of women who have devoted their careers and their writing to the subject of women and the Holocaust. Among the chapter authors are Dr. Rochelle G. Saidel, founding director of Remember the Women Institute, as well as Advisory Board members Dr. Batya Brutin, Dr. Insa Eschebach, Dr. Myrna Goldenberg, Prof. Esther Hertzog, and Prof. Sara R. Horowitz. Each of the 27 chapter contributors to the volume writes about how her background led her to focus on this subject. Beginning with the 1980s, the three sections of the anthology are: “The ‘Founding Mothers,'” “The ‘Middle Generation,'” and “The ‘New Voices.'” The book was published by Peter Lang AG International Academic Publishers.
